Cycling @ Work (with Neil H)

This ride was my first attempt at riding with cycling shoes and cleats. I fell off a couple of times beforehand, and I fell off once en route, but we had to make it a short one as there were a few issues needing fixing on the bike.

What is that mummy, and why is it looking at my sandwich?

So we decided to take Annabeth for a cycle. We had various stops for lunch, Moira (leg tiredness), A ride on the train in Sale (Annabeth would not put her helmet back on after that so there is a bit of a walk as we won’t ride without it on!!), a stop at the Society for Abandoned Animals in Sale for their Spring Fair. Close to home Moira was also suffering with pain and cramp and Annabeth fell asleep!!

New Tyres

The past few days I have been cycling with Niel H I have really noticed the noise that comes from the front tyres, so I decided to try to help me go further (within my lunch break) I would get some road tyres as most of my routes are on tarmac. Here are a few pictures (not brilliant from my phone because there is a reflective strip on the tyre…)

Road grip
The tread is minimal, but this should reduce the noise and give me a higher speed!

Reflective strip
Glows like a halo – great for summer daytime cycling!!

Front wheel
Looking good on the front, (and the back!!)

Continental CityRide
Continental CityRide – kevlar protection to reduce punctures – we will have to see how long that lasts…
